Higher Ground

Higher Ground is the premier music venue in Vermont, providing entertainment nearly every night of the year since its inception in 1998. Originally located in Winooski, the venue moved to its current location in South Burlington. With two distinct spaces—the Ballroom, accommodating 750 people, and the Showcase Lounge, with a capacity of 300—Higher Ground can host a wide range of performances, from intimate acoustic sets to large funk bands.

Known for its exceptional acoustics and professional staff, Higher Ground has consistently ranked among Pollstar’s top 50 venues nationwide. Over the years, the venue has hosted an impressive array of events, including performances by small local bands, comedy shows, movie screenings, political fundraisers, and even a GWAR-themed wedding. Higher Ground has become a cornerstone of Vermont’s music scene, attracting up-and-coming artists and established touring acts.
